Google may offer Live Video Call Verification as a way to verify your Google Business Profile.
During the live call, a Google support representative will ask you to use your mobile device camera to show evidence that:
Your business is operating at the correct location
Your business genuinely exists and operates
You are authorized to manage or represent the business
⚠️ Important: Google decides which verification methods are available for each Business Profile. Live Video Call Verification will only be available if Google displays it as an option for your business.
Step 1: Prepare Before Starting the Call
Before starting verification, make sure you are physically at your business or operating location.
You should have:
A smartphone with a working camera
A reliable internet connection
Access to the business premises or operating location
Keys to the business, vehicle, storage area, or employee-only areas
Business tools and equipment nearby
Business documents available if needed
Any relevant products, inventory, marketing materials, or branded items ready to show
Do not start the process from home or another location if the business you are verifying operates somewhere else.
Step 2: Know What Google May Ask You to Show
During the call, the Google representative may ask you to move around and show different parts of the business.
Be prepared to demonstrate the following three things:
1. Your Business Location
Google may ask you to show:
Street name
Street signs
Building number
Nearby businesses
Nearby landmarks
Exterior of the building
Business entrance
Surrounding area
This helps Google confirm that you are physically at the location associated with the Business Profile.
2. Your Business or Equipment
Be prepared to show evidence that your business genuinely operates.
Depending on your business, this could include:
Storefront
Business signage
Products or inventory
Professional tools
Equipment
Machinery
Workstations
Workspace
Branded equipment
Business vehicle
Marketing materials
Supplies used to provide your service
The items you show should be relevant to the business category listed on your Google Business Profile.
3. Proof That You Manage the Business
Google may also ask you to demonstrate that you are authorized to manage or represent the business.
Examples include:
Unlocking the business using your keys
Accessing an employee-only area
Opening a storage room
Accessing a kitchen
Operating a cash register
Using a point-of-sale system
Unlocking a business vehicle
Accessing professional equipment
Showing non-sensitive business documents
Try to show something that an ordinary customer would not normally be able to access.
Step 3: Prepare Based on Your Business Type
Storefront or Hybrid Business
If customers visit your physical location, be prepared to show:
Street and surrounding area
Building exterior
Business entrance
Permanent business signage
Interior of the business
Products, equipment, or workspace
Proof that you have management access
Your business name should match the name shown on your Google Business Profile.
Service-Area Business
If you travel to customers and do not serve customers at your address, be prepared to show:
Street signs or nearby landmarks confirming your operating location
Professional tools
Equipment
Work vehicle
Supplies
Business cards or marketing materials
Branded items
Proof that you manage the business
You may also be asked to show non-sensitive business documentation.
If customers do not visit your operating address, that address should normally be hidden from customers on your Google Business Profile.
Step 4: Start the Live Video Verification Process
When Live video call appears as an available verification option:
Go to your Google Business Profile.
Select Get verified.
Select Live video call.
Select Next.
Choose your preferred language.
Select Start call.
Google will first start a text chat with a support representative.
When a representative becomes available, they will help you join the live video call.
Step 5: Follow the Google Representative's Instructions
Once the video call begins:
Keep your mobile camera turned on.
Follow the representative's instructions.
Move around the location as requested.
Clearly show each item they ask to see.
Avoid rushing.
Make sure the camera focuses clearly on signs, equipment, and other evidence.
Answer any questions about the business accurately.
The Google representative may ask you to move from outside the business to inside the premises or to show additional evidence.
Do not end the call until the representative confirms that they have everything they need.
⚠️ Protect Sensitive Information
If Google asks you to show business documentation, avoid displaying unnecessary sensitive information.
Do not intentionally show:
Bank account numbers
Tax identification numbers
Government identification numbers
Customer information
Passwords
Confidential company information
Other private personal information
Only show the information necessary to establish your connection to the business.
⚠️ Common Live Video Verification Mistakes
Avoid:
❌ Starting the verification when you are not at the business location
❌ Having poor internet or an unusable mobile camera
❌ Not having keys or management access available
❌ Being unable to show tools or equipment related to the business
❌ Showing only the inside of the business without establishing the location
❌ Not having business signage available for a storefront
❌ Having someone on the call who cannot demonstrate authority over the business
❌ Showing sensitive customer, financial, or personal information
What If “Live Video Call” Is Not Available?
Not every business will receive a Live Video Call option.
Google determines which verification methods are available for your Business Profile.
If Live video call does not appear, you cannot manually select or force this verification method.
Use the verification method Google currently provides to you.
If you have already attempted the available verification methods and are still unable to verify your profile:
Google Support can review your verification issue and advise you on the next available steps.
