To enhance security and comply with telecom regulations, identity verification is now required when purchasing phone numbers in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico. This verification is a one-time process that ensures your sub-account is fully authorized to use regulated phone numbers.
When Is Identity Verification Required?
Verification is required if:
- You're purchasing a number with a +1 country code (US, CA, PR) 
- Your account has not completed identity verification before 
Once verified, you will not be asked to repeat the process for:
- Future phone number purchases 
- A2P brand registration 
- Toll-free number verification 
- CNAM setup 
- SHAKEN/STIR compliance 
How to Purchase a Phone Number and Complete Persona Verification
Step 1: Go to Phone Settings
- Log in to your account 
- Navigate to the Settings tab in the left-hand menu 
- Click on Phone Numbers 
- Go to Number Pools 
Step 2: Initiate a New Purchase
- Click on the + Add Number and select "Add Number Pool" 
- Select the purpose of the Pool 
- Add your own number as Forwarding Number 
Step 3: Identity Verification Prompt
- If your account hasn’t completed Persona verification, a prompt will appear automatically 
Step 4: Upload a Valid ID
- Submit a government-issued photo ID (passport, driver’s license, etc.) 
Step 5: Facial Recognition
- Use your webcam or phone to complete a live selfie check 
 
Step 6: Purchase Completion
- Once your identity is verified, the phone number will be purchased automatically 
Good to Know
- Identity verification is required only once per sub-account. 
- It applies only to phone numbers purchased and managed through our system. 
- You may need to refresh your screen after completing the process to continue.
